About the Festival
The Holmfirth Children’s Book Festival is for children, young people and their families in Holmfirth and beyond. We aim to inspire a love of reading and books. Our first festival took place in September 2025.
In the years to come we hope to grow the festival further and become a destination for book lovers all over the UK.
We are a non-profit organisation, Holmfirth Book Festival CIC, run by five local volunteers including the founders of Read Bookshop. We are passionate about getting children excited about books.

What Our Visitors Say
We can’t wait for the Holmfirth Children’s Book Festival. My kids have loved online author events at school and this means they can meet authors and illustrators in real life. A whole weekend of creativity is something we will all benefit from, and so handy it will only be 5 minutes from home!
